Beeper for Automobile Flasher Using 555

Flashing light is a good way to alert people around but is not the best measure. Ears can hear when eyes cannot see. Therefore using a beeper circuit is the best remedy and this concept has been utilized in modern automobiles and also included in multiple other applications. The project ‘beeper for automobile flasher’ can be implemented in old automobiles (scooters, motorcycles) where there is no beeper circuit along with a flasher. It can also be included in many other alerting projects which employ flasher circuits.

Working of Beeper for Automobile Flasher Using 555 Timer IC

The entire circuit of the beeper for the automobile flasher is fabricated around LM 555 (IC1) which is used as a 1 kHz astable multivibrator. As this circuit is connected to the power (from the turn indicator switch of the scooter), an output of 1 kHz frequency is obtained at PIN 3 of IC1 (LM555). This frequency is given to the speaker through R3 and C2 and a beeper sound is heard. This circuit does not need extra supply and heavy components and for this reason, is much easier to execute.

Implementation of  Flasher and Beeper Circuit Using 555 Timer IC in Automobile

This circuit has a limitation; it can be used only for those vehicles, and have the facilities of a Turn Indicator Switch since it provides the supply required for the circuit to operate. To precede further follow the connection diagram shown in figure 1. For circuit protection, two signal diodes are connected to the left and right side of the switch and then connected to the point beeper cum flasher circuit.
